Research Interests: Nabanita's fields of interest include Modern Bangla fiction, particularly short stories, and stylistic and linguistic analysis of texts. She is involved in studying Bangla poetry of the Middle Ages with special emphasis on Vaisnab Padabali. She is also active in the field of Women's Studies.

Has also translated and published some short stories in various journals.
